The online fashion industry is saturated. As part of my quest to meet creatives and my hunger to make real-life connections I met with Chelsea Arendse from the Plain Black Luxurae blog.
What is your most treasured item?
I'm so sad to say that its my IPhone but this is simply because it has everything I need and allows me to carry it everywhere - Music, Contacts, Social Media Apps, Emails, and Google. Name your top 3 designers (local and designer) I'm currently really into Droomer which is a local designer. I also think Yeezy fashion is super dope, and I just always had an ongoing love for Gucci. If you could work with any brand who would it be? Yeezy! That way I can wear all his designs and meet the Kardashian sisters haha
What excites you most about being a young creative in South Africa right now?
Its something really big and I love how age cannot define capabilities in today's age. It gives the younger generation an opportunity to start young which in turn can mean succeeding at a younger age than usual and this just brings about great things. Who are your real life heroes? Cliche, but hands down my Mom because she had been through so many obstacles in life and yet she continues to keep head up high. Also Rihanna because she is fearless, sexy, and has zero tolerance for drama (I love that)
What is your recipe for happiness?
Happiness starts with yourself. So be kind, don't be quick to judge, focus on the positive things in everything and everyone and soon you'll start to see all the positivity being sent back your way! Where do you see yourself in 5 years? On the cover of Vogue. Just kidding, I can definitely see myself having my own clothing line by then as well as really diving into the marketing world trying to make waves. |
