Your love for fashion and beauty started when? I would say it started in High School, I always used to read SEVENTEEN Magazine, COSMO, HEAT and the YOU magazine. I used to love the different styles that celebrities would rock and I always pictured myself being in one of those magazines one day for my great sense of style or even being the Street Style writer. It was so motivating. The beauty aspect also started late in High School; I was always obsessed with make-up obviously but my love for beauty grew after school when I was able to actually learn the skills and apply them. It's an amazing feeling when you actually learning things that you are passionate about and always dreamed of doing. What inspires your style? My very first inspiration came from my Moms closet, the vintage style was like love at first sight. I would definitely say my mood as well. My style really varies from day to day depending on my mood and also on what I am doing for the day. More importantly what also inspires my style is the type of events that I go to. 2017 is a new year filled with bigger and better things and this year my style is definitely inspired by the creative, fun, bubbly person I am on the inside that is bursting to come out. My versatility to think outside the box definitely inspires my style as well. What do you think your style says about you? Different, adventurous, fun, versatile, and definitely HAPPY. What is your most treasured item? If we were still in 2016 I would've definitely said my cellphone, but it has to be my glasses/contact lenses. They are MY LIFE LOL. Name your top 3 designers? (local and international) Taibo Bacar Kurt Botha Dolce & Gabbana If you could work with any brand who would it be? In South Africa definitely Woolworths because it's a very prestigious brand and I feel like the clothing has various levels which can be extremely versatile. Like you can literally also find everything at Woolworths to suit your every need. From home to outfits. You are able to find something for any platform. Internationally I would love to work with Top Shop because the items are unique and depending on how you put the items together you can really create amazing looks for day and night or any occasion really. I love clothing that shoes versatility. What excites you most about being a young creative in South Africa right now? The diversity as well as the ongoing growing platform on which we can all display our work. I love that we in South Africa are so different it's ultimately what makes us so unique and I'm excited to share our bursting and creative minds. Times have changed dramatically; everyday there are new, exciting and bigger platforms where we are able to display our work or share our passion. What excites me is that things can only go up, they can only get better, they can only grow bigger and we are such a talented, spicy, goal driven, exciting, dynamic and powerful youth and in time all of that energy will be carried to the younger generations and that same great cycle will repeat. Who are your real life heroes? My grandparents hands down. They have been my pillar of strength since day one. My grandfather bends over backwards to ensure that I am spoiled(at times) but more so to ensure I have everything I need and want. Such a humble and grounded man. My grandmother plays the role of a mother, psychologist and support system all in one and she has fought cancer more times than I can keep count and she is just by far the strongest person I know. A remarkable lady hands down. They are THE REAL MVP'S (haha) What is your recipe for happiness?
