Even though I went on to study Mechanical engineering my love for fashion has always remained and alas my blog was created during my third year of studies as a means to keep my creative side afloat. What inspires your style? All my photos are usually taken in a nature setting, my brother has recently questioned if it is possible for me to remove myself from nature for a bit to create some different content, and my hippy ways detested the comment as I love nature and its calm possibilities. So yes nature inspires my style! What do you think your style says about you? There is a bohemian element to my style where if you look at the definition of bohemian it states “a socially unconventional person, especially one who is involved in the arts” I can relate to that! What is your most treasured item? My camera, because I do not have insurance on it at the moment. Name your top three designers (local and international)
If you could work with any brand who would it be? If it would be at this very moment I would say Dior as they have recently handed over the reigns to Maria Grazia Chuiri, the first woman to stand as the head designer at Dior. Now I think that would be an exciting environment to be immersed in, we all are allowed to dream ;) What excites you most about being a young creative in South Africa right now? The fact we can instil change to a currently unchanging society that is lacking in innovation and foresight. Who are your real life heroes? Margaret Zhang, due to the fact that she implemented some major campaigns at Vogue as a fashion blogger while studying law at the age of 23. She is the definition that you will never be limited to time when it comes to doing what you love. ..And of course my mom and dad, they have always inspired me to work hard! What is your recipe for happiness? Religion, exercise, eating healthy and the love of your people, those are my 4 keys to a balanced life. And lastly to treat everyone with love and respect regardless of their history or background, there is no room for judgement in our busy schedules, ain’t nobody got time for that!
