"I was ecstatic, I almost fell off the bed from rolling in joy. Literally. The joy was tangible, it was seeping through my fingers, tapping on the keyword, searching the corners of the internet for images that looked remotely similar to what I had been imagining."
As much as I hate to say this phrase, I’ve always had a passion for fashion. From a young age I would spend my free time snipping models out of magazines and creating what we know as today as “mood boards”.
Furthermore, I chose a path in writing, and even though it’s a creative craft, I spent my days wondering how I could get involved in fashion projects. Thankfully, I found photography (a story for another time) and about just a year ago I finally followed my dream, more than I imagined. That was well over eight months ago and this year I’ve marked another dream off my list – at last, I acted as a stylist and creative director on a shoot.
Like I promised in my intro, my blog is all about sharing my ‘moments’ with inactive creative, those just about to take the plunge into the industry, and those who love a story about someone following their dreams. “How bad do you want it?” is the thought that logical Anthea asked the moment I was asked to plan outfits, a mood board and some shots for the shoot in 30 minutes. As expected, I was ecstatic, I almost feel off the bed from rolling in joy. Literally. The joy was tangible, it was seeping through my fingers, tapping on the keyword, searching the corners of the internet for images that looked remotely similar to what I had been imagining. So here I am a few weeks later and thanks to the crazy-talented Marlon Du Plooy, the product is here, fresh and aromatic for your eyes to revel for a bit.
